Use in Brake Pads for Rail Vehicles

  • The excellent dispersibility of CIRCOLIT® makes it especially suitable for use in kneaders.
  • CIRCOLIT® is more chemically active and functional than, e.g. MgO or BaSO4 at comparative coarseness levels and more thermically stable that carbonate. In comparison to Al(OH)3, the cooling effect is lower but the friction coefficient is stabilised and not decreased.
  • The great chemically active surface has a positive influence on the behaviour of the brake pads when wet. This in turn has a positive effect on the wear and tear.
  • Die endotherme Reaktion oberhalb 600 °C wirkt sich im Bremsbelag durch einen Kühleffekt bei hohen Belastungen aus. Dieser beeinflusst das Verschleißverhalten positiv.

CIRCOLIT-Powder - Processing information

  • Easy addition to dry and kneading mixing machines
  • CIRCOLIT® does not tend to form clumps or agglomerate and disperses quickly in the mixing process. These positive flow properties and low deliquescence enable the use of automatic silo, conveyor or feed systems.
  • It should be noted that powder with coarser fillers or fibers should be covered in order to avois loss of materials when using open feed / input units with strong suction.
